Shoestring Socialising
As well as taking your studies seriously, there is still time for having fun and we’re sure you won’t want to miss out. Starting with freshers’ week and continuing throughout the year, there’ll be plenty of time for socialising and meeting new people. Unfortunately college isn’t all one party and your social budget will be tighter than ever. So, if you don’t want to miss out on those nights out, here are some tips to help you manage your cash:
- Check out your college website and local gig guides for free events. But be aware that a free gig can mean higher bar prices!
- Check out the cheap events happening on campus. College societies run lots of great events throughout the year from music festivals to sports clubs
- If you go to nightclubs, make sure you get there early before the cover charge is applied
- Instead of going out to eat, invite all your friends around and make sure everyone is told to bring a dish each and their own drinks
