Summary of Third Level Student Current Account Fees and Charges
Schedule of Fees and Charges for Personal Customers
Just need a little something to tide you over? Apply for an overdraft on your 3rd Level Student Current Account while you wait for your grant money to come through and you don’t have to pay any interest for 9 months. The Grant Advance Overdraft must be fully repaid within 9 months to avoid interest charges. Thereafter the standard student variable interest rate will apply on any outstanding balance. The standard student variable rate is 11.9% Annual Percentage Rate (APR) variable as at 1st May 2011 and is subject to change. The rate quoted is based on a representative example of €1,500 over a 12 month period. Total cost of credit is €178.45
On the Student Grant Advance Overdraft or any other overdraft on a 3rd Level Student Current Account an interest surcharge of 0.6% per month or part of a month (7.2% per annum) subject to a minimum charge of €2.54 per month applies to the amount in excess of agreed overdraft permission or to the full overdrawn amount where no agreed overdraft permission exists. Where an account with agreed overdraft permission does not revert to credit for 30 days during a 12 month period an interest surcharge of 0.75% per annum will be applied. The interest surcharge is charged by the Bank in addition to the normal interest which it charges you and is payable by you at the same time and in the same way as that normal interest. Interest surcharges apply in addition to the relevant interest rate and are calculated on the statement (i.e. uncleared) balance and are subject to change.
Managing money is not always easy and sometimes it’s good to have someone to talk to. That’s why our student advisers are available to meet with you and to discuss your finances.
