Apply online or in any Bank of Ireland branch and if approved, it gives you an immediate credit limit of €400 in your first or second year, and up to €850 if you’re in third year or above.
You can use your student credit card to book tickets and make purchases online or over the phone and at more than 40,000 locations in Ireland and 24 million outlets around the world. You can withdraw cash at ATMs in Ireland and abroad (anywhere you see MasterCard displayed), so there’s no need to carry large amounts of currency.
Terms and conditions
1. Lending criteria, terms and conditions apply to the Student Credit Card. Applicants must be aged 18 or over and parental guarantee may be required. Applicants must be students attending a full time course, proof will be required. For Student Credit Cards, introductory offers apply to new Credit Card customers only or to previous customers whose Bank of Ireland credit card accounts have been closed for more than one year. After six months 0% APR reverts to a variable rate of 18.1% APR for purchases. Information correct as at May 2011. Customers must have a current account with any bank for a minimum of 6 months with an average monthly turnover of €127 to qualify. Representative example of credit card purchase at standard interest rate of 14.54% variable APR. Typical APR of 18.1% variable including annual Government Stamp Duty of €30. Assuming purchase of €1,500 repaid in equal instalments over a 12 month period. The total amount repayable by customer is €1,668.65 which includes initial purchase of €1,500 and a total cost of credit of €168.65. Lending criteria, terms and conditions apply to all credit cards. Credit cards are liable to Government Stamp Duty of €30 per card. Credit cannot be offered to anyone under 18 years of age.
